Herring fillet is a real domestic local dish and preparing it as food is an ecological choice. Today, it is also a very safe food, because in recent years the dioxins present in it have decreased significantly below the limit values ​​determined by the EU. Herring fishing is also very responsible and even eco-friendly towards the Baltic Sea.

All the herring supplied by Kalaneuvos and Martin Kala has been MSC-certified since the trawling and gillnet fishing of herring and pound shark caught in Finland’s marine areas received the MSC certificate. The blue MSC label guarantees that the fish has been caught in accordance with MSC’s sustainable fishing criteria.

Kalaneuvos herring fillets are made from herring caught in the Selkä Sea and the Archipelago Sea. From Kalaneuvoks and Martin Kala you can get herring fillets with or without skin.
